The Rookery Golf Course

The Rookery Golf Course, a par-71 championship course measuring 6,481 yards, is about 15 miles from Rehoboth Beach. One of the highlights of this course lies in the water hazards that come into play in 12 out of 18 holes.

The 11th hole, a par 4, 447-yard stretch, presents a challenge with a tight fairway, two water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. The Rookery also offers practice facilities that include a driving range, practice bunkers and chipping and putting areas.

Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club

Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club features an 18-hole, par-70 course with a course rating of 71.6 and a slope rating of 133. Three sets of tees allow players of all levels to test their skills on the 6,323-yard championship course.

The course, which boasts dramatic elevation changes, is surrounded by 145 acres of heavily wooded terrain. The opening hole, a 523-yard par-5, sets the standard of play with a dogleg left that features elevation changes and a sloped hour-glass green.

In addition, the club also provides a large practice green and individualized golf instruction.

Ed Oliver Golf Club

The Ed Oliver Golf Club features an 18-hole course named the “Best Municipal Golf Course in Delaware” in 2009 by Golf Digest The par-69 course measures 6,115 yards with a course rating of 68.8 and a slope rating of 124.

One of its hallmarks lies in the 18th hole, a 400-yard par-4. It’s a risk-reward shot with elevation changes as golfers attempt to reach the pin. The green slopes from back to front with three bunkers guarding the left and rear.

In addition, the signature stone chimney sits on the right side of the fairway. This club also provides a fully stocked golf shop and certified custom fitting with club purchase.
